DRUMMOND CAMPAIGN DEMANDS FALSE ATTACK AD BE REMOVED, CALLS CLAIMS “OUTRAGEOUS LIES” FUNDED BY DARK MONEY GROUP

TULSA, OK — The Drummond for Governor campaign announced today it has sent cease and desist letters to television stations across Oklahoma and to the School Freedom Fund over what the campaign says is a demonstrably false and defamatory attack ad targeting Attorney General Gentner Drummond.

Matthew Parker, Campaign Chairman for Drummond, blasted the ad as a dishonest smear campaign funded by outside special interests desperate to stop Drummond’s momentum.

“This ad is a grotesque and deliberately deceptive attack funded by out-of-state corporate interests who will say or do absolutely anything to defeat Gentner Drummond,” Parker said.

“The claims are so absurd and detached from reality that it is honestly difficult to comprehend how anyone could manufacture lies this brazen out of thin air.”

Parker directly refuted the ad’s central claims.

“Gentner Drummond never certified the Oklahoma Diversity Center to receive funding,” Parker continued. “The funding referenced in the ad originated under a previous administration, not under Attorney General Drummond. In fact, when the organization later came before his administration, Gentner refused to certify the group because it failed to meet the standards required by his office.”

Parker also condemned what he called the ad’s “disgusting and intentionally misleading” attempt to associate Drummond with a so-called “Trans Queen Story Hour.”

“That claim is beyond dishonest,” Parker said. “Gentner Drummond has been one of the leading conservatives in the country fighting radical gender ideology. He successfully defended Oklahoma’s law banning transgender surgeries for minors and took on the ACLU to protect Oklahoma children and families. The people behind this ad know that. They simply do not care about the truth.”

Parker said the attack reflects the increasingly desperate tactics being used by political groups aligned with outside corporate interests attempting to distract from Oklahoma’s real challenges.

“These outrageous lies are exactly what is wrong with politics today,” Parker concluded. “While these groups spend millions on false attacks, Oklahoma families are struggling with some of the highest insurance rates in America, failing education outcomes, a mental health crisis, healthcare shortages, and an economy that continues to lag behind competing states. Gentner Drummond is the only candidate in this race with a serious, conservative plan to turn Oklahoma

around, and his record as Attorney General proves he can deliver results. The smear campaign from these outside interests will not work because Oklahomans are smarter than that.”
